SLUM FOCUS YOUTH GROUP is a youth empowerment group formed by youths from Mathare Constituency in Kenya. The main aim is to liberate the youths from crime, drug abuse and being idle by impacting their minds with Information Communication Technology (ICT) skills that will enable them seek employment and be able to earn a decent income.
Apart from training the youth, we also engage in income generating activities such as running a Cyber cafe that gets to earn the youth group a decent income so that we can be able to run our activities at ease.
We also work in coordination with other youth groups such as Solidarity Youth Group to ensure we maintain our estates cleanliness through garbage collection, unblocking sewerage and teaching the community about general cleanliness and proper waste disposal.
